Cosactive Toco Power is an effective mixture of natural tocopherols and a tocopherol derivative.
Tocopherols and their derivatives (also known as vitamin E) are powerful antioxidants that protect both the skin and the cosmetic product from free radicals. Tocopherol itself can protect the cosmetic product from spoilage by binding free radicals. The derivative tocopheryl linoleate/oleate is able to protect the skin from oxidative stress by being broken down by lipases in the skin, releasing the pure tocopherol.
Vitamin E has numerous positive effects on skin health: It can help protect the skin from UV radiation, pollution and other harmful influences. In addition, vitamin E can improve skin hydration, promote skin elasticity and thus reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
Processing
Cosactive Toco Power is heat-stable and can be weighed into the fat phase and heated up to 80°C. Alternatively, it can also be added at colder temperatures before final homogenisation. As the product is lipophilic, it requires a solubiliser for aqueous formulations.
